I am a qualified and professionally trained counsellor, based in Farnham and Haslemere, Surrey.

I work with both adults and teenagers 16+ with issues such as depression, generalised anxiety disorder, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship issues and family dynamics. You can be assured of a warm and caring environment in which you may explore your thoughts and feelings.

Please click here to see my Testimonials page for feedback from people I have previously worked with, so you can see how my counselling support has been helpful to them. It is completely natural to feel worried or unsure about starting psychotherapy and sometimes just making the decision to ask for help can feel like a big, scary step.

But, being here is one of the biggest steps...

Counselling can help you become more in touch with yourself and the relationships that are important to you. It can help to shed light on your experiences, understand why you might be feeling the way you are, and to work towards any desired changes.

KatyTucker counsellor

“Throughout my time with Katy, one thing I never felt was judged. I think it was this that enabled me to feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable emotionally."

— L.M

When you tell me about you, it helps me understand what it is like being you.

I am not a friend or a family member; I am here to listen to you as it comes; unfiltered and without judgement. Part of my role is to reflect back what I see and hear and to offer a different perspective - so you can see with fresh eyes. This insight can help you see patterns or coping mechanisms that may not be helpful to you now. The development of this self awareness can be the catalyst to change. You can move from a place of feeling anxious, sad, confused or stuck, to finding some clarity on why you got here and together we can explore how you would like that to be different.

Why counselling?

As a counsellor, I was drawn into psychotherapy having supported neurodivergent young people for over 10 years, including ADHD, autism and Asperger’s. I wanted to nurture the unique and special nature of that one to one relationship.

I am passionate about the benefits of talking therapy. In my mind, there is nothing more powerful than two people sitting opposite each other in a room; one person being truly listened to, without judgement or criticism.

"Growing up around a lot of unpredictability, Katy's constant understanding and calm approach was very soothing to me. My regular sessions became a structured and safe experience where I was able to talk about whatever I needed to on that day." — E.P

Who I See

I offer counselling to individuals online and face to face. I work with adults and teenagers/young people 16+ for both long and short term work.

If you are looking for warm and professional counselling support, we can begin this journey together. I am available for face to face and online appointments; daytime and limited evenings. It is really important that you feel comfortable with me, so email, text or call for a free 15 minute telephone consultation to help you make that decision. I look forward to hearing from you.
