Welcome to Talk to Katy

Counselling and psychotherapy in Farnham, Hampshire and Surrey borders.

I provide in person and online counselling and psychotherapy in central Farnham - accessible from Farnborough, Fleet, Godalming and Guildford.

If you are an individual or couple do call or email me to arrange a free 15 minute phone consultation.

I am here to really listen to you.

Have you been feeling a little stuck recently? I am here to truly listen to you so that I can understand and help you. Has your voice ever been fully heard before? I am not a friend or family member so I can listen objectively; without judgement or advice.

I am interested in your story, what has brought you to seek help and supporting you through your counselling experience whether it be long or short term work.

I have a comfortable and warm room; a refuge in which you may explore your feelings and the challenges you may be facing.

You have the reassurance that I am an experienced BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist. I help both adults and young people (+16) with depression, generalised anxiety disorder, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship dynamics and family issues.

It is completely natural to feel worried or unsure about starting therapy - just making the decision to ask for help can feel overwhelming and scary. But, being here is one of the biggest steps.

A counsellor can help you become more in touch with yourself and the relationships around you. Counselling can help shed light on your experiences, why you feel as you do and support you to work towards any desired change.

Please click here to see my Testimonials page for feedback from people I have previously worked with, so you can see how counselling has been helpful to them.

I am also registered with AXA Health, Vitality Health and Aviva.

“Katy's caring human approach to everything we discussed, and the level of emotional intelligence she brought to all our conversations are just two of the many reasons I would recommend her to anyone looking to start therapy"

— M.D

When you tell me about you, it helps me understand what it is like being you.

I am here to listen to you as it comes; unfiltered and without judgement. Part of my role as a counsellor is to reflect back what I see and hear and to offer a different perspective - so you can see with fresh eyes. This insight can help you see patterns or coping mechanisms that may not be helpful to you now. The development of this self awareness can be the catalyst to change. You can move from a place of feeling anxious, sad, confused or stuck, to finding some clarity on why you got here and together we can explore how you would like that to be different.

Why counselling?

As a counsellor, I was drawn into psychotherapy having supported neurodivergent young people for over 10 years, including ADHD, autism and Asperger’s. I wanted to nurture the unique and special nature of that one to one relationship. I have a special interest in neurodivergence.

I am passionate about the benefits of talking therapy. In my mind, there is nothing more powerful than two people sitting opposite each other in a room; one person being truly listened to, without judgement or criticism.

"My experience of my counselling relationship with Katy was an extremely positive one. Katy made me feel at ease at all times and created a safe and supportive space where I felt I could share anything on my mind. I looked forward to each session as I knew I would come away with a fresh perspective on any challenges or issues I was facing." — L.H
